Tour Description
DAY 1. LIMA: Arrive in Lima, followed by a private transfer with a driver to your hotel. Overnight stay.
DAY 2. LIMA / CUSCO: Start your day with breakfast at the hotel. Embark on a tour beginning at the remarkable Larco Museum in Pueblo Libre, featuring a comprehensive collection of over 5000 ceramic pieces, along with gold, silver, and pre-Columbian erotic art.
Proceed to the historic center to explore Casa Aliaga, a colonial mansion rich in art and history. Continue to the Plaza de Armas, home to the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, and the Municipal Palace, and visit the 16th-century Cathedral.
Afterward, transfer to the airport for your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, enjoy a private transfer to your hotel. Overnight stay.
DAY 3. CUSCO: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. In the afternoon, begin your tour at the Koricancha, or Temple of the Sun, a site that exemplifies the blend of Incan and Hispanic cultures. Santo Domingo’s Church and its famous convent are built upon its foundations.
Next, visit the Cathedral at the Main Square to admire exquisite Cusco School paintings. The journey continues to Sacsayhuaman, an impressive archaeological site known for its enormous stones, said to be assembled by over 20,000 men over 70 years.
Explore Qenqo, a religious temple where the Incas worshipped deities like the Sun, the Moon, and the Earth, complete with underground galleries and a semicircular amphitheater.
Continue to Puca Pucara, or “Red Fortress,” and then visit Tambomachay, a water worship center with aqueducts and waterfalls. The tour concludes at El Regocijo Square, near the Plaza de Armas. Overnight stay.
DAY 4. CUSCO / SACRED VALLEY / AGUAS CALIENTES: Start with breakfast at the hotel. Travel from Cusco to Pisac, featuring a vibrant market and stunning archaeological stone temples overlooking the valley and Inca terraces.
Proceed to Urubamba for a delightful buffet lunch, then head to Ollantaytambo, a former Inca military, religious, and agricultural center. Enjoy its breathtaking views and advanced irrigation system.
Board the Train Expedition to Aguas Calientes from Ollantaytambo’s station. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and meet your guide to plan your Machu Picchu visit. Overnight stay.
DAY 5. AGUAS CALIENTES / MACHU PICCHU / CUSCO: After breakfast, take an early bus to Machu Picchu, enjoying views of the Urubamba River and its canyon.
Discover The Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, with its terraces, ceremonial sites, and urban areas. Following a guided tour, you may explore further or return to Aguas Calientes for lunch (optional).
At the scheduled time, board the train to Ollantaytambo, followed by a tourist bus to Cusco. Overnight stay at your hotel in Cusco’s historical center.
DAY 6. CUSCO / RAINBOW MOUNTAIN VINICUNCA / CUSCO: Depart early at 3:30 a.m. from your hotel for a 3.5-hour journey through a striking landscape of desert vistas, snowcapped peaks, and roaming alpacas.
On arrival at the trailhead, enjoy a hot breakfast before beginning the hike from Chillihuani at 4,200 meters (13,900 feet). A 4-hour uphill trek leads to Peru’s famous Rainbow Mountain.
Marvel at the Andes’ landscapes, glacial peaks, red valleys, and traditional llamas and alpacas. Upon reaching the summit, spot Andean wildlife such as vicuñas, known for their high-value wool.
At the peak of Rainbow Mountain, capture photos and enjoy the grand views, including the Ausangate Mountain, the highest in Cusco. Our guide will explain the colorful mountain's geological history.
After a photo session, descend on a 2-hour hike, then travel to a local restaurant for a hot lunch.
Return to Cusco around 5:00 p.m., and transfer back to your hotel.
DAY 7. CUSCO / PUNO: After breakfast, transfer to the bus station. Board the tourist bus for a journey to the south valley, stopping first at Andahuaylillas at 3,093 meters.
Visit the town's Sistine Chapel, known for its 17th-century architecture, gold leaf decoration, and Cusco School paintings.
Continue to the archaeological site of Raqchi, at 3,450 meters. Explore the temple of Wiracocha, with its ancient walls, aqueducts, and tombs.
Stop for a buffet lunch in Sicuani, savoring local dishes and mate de coca.
Travel to La Raya Pass at 4,335 meters, the border of Cusco and Puno, to photograph snowcapped Chimboya.
The final stop is the Museum of Pucara, showcasing the Pucara civilization’s monoliths and ceramics.
Travel onward to Puno, with arrival at the bus station and hotel transfer. Overnight stay.
DAY 8. PUNO: After breakfast, transfer to Puno’s lake port for a boat ride to the floating islands of the Uros. The Uros community resides on islands built from the totora plant, which also forms their houses.
Continue by boat to Taquile island, a Quechua-speaking island once part of the Inca empire. Enjoy a cultural activity and lunch before returning to Puno. Transfer back to your hotel. Overnight stay.
DAY 9. PUNO / LIMA: After breakfast, visit Sillustani, a pre-Inca cemetery with funeral towers, and explore local communities.
Transfer to Juliaca Airport for your flight to Lima, followed by a hotel transfer. Overnight stay.
DAY 10. LIMA / OUT: Enjoy leisure time before your airport transfer for your international flight.
